Why a dog in an advisory brand?

11 September 2026 · Beata Monika Schäfer

If you have seen the BMS Advisory visuals, you may have noticed the bench, the dog and a quieter moment beside a much bigger world.

The dog is Cooper, my Australian Shepherd. His place in the brand reflects something personal: my love of animals, and the values I want to bring into my work.

I think of this as my Dog DNA: loyalty, empathy and genuine partnership.

Not a business formula. A reminder of how I choose to show up.

The bench offers a simple image of that approach: making room to pause, observe and understand before deciding what should happen next.

In international business, we often feel pressure to have the answer quickly. Yet a useful answer begins with attention: to the person across the table, the context behind a decision and the needs that have not quite been put into words.

That attention matters in very different worlds.

My advisory work and my work with dogs require different knowledge and skills. What connects them is the commitment to understand individual needs, communicate clearly and take responsibility for the relationship.

In business, loyalty means staying engaged when a conversation becomes difficult. Empathy means understanding another perspective without avoiding an honest challenge. Partnership means working towards something valuable together, rather than simply expecting the other side to follow.

These values do not replace strategy, commercial discipline or results. They shape how I pursue them.

So yes, there is a dog in my advisory brand. There is also a person behind the experience, the markets and the business conversations.

International perspective. Personal commitment.
